A Lenten Prayer

Father,

We are almost to the halfway mark for this Lenten Season.

This season filled with penitence, prayer and fasting will end with hearts filled with the joy of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Now we are filled with the sorrow of Ukraine as we watched the people suffer death and destruction and we don’t know what to do to stop this invasion.

Our fears of economic hardships and nuclear war do not give us an easy path forward.

We are praying for peace for all.

As we cry out to You over what we see in Ukraine, You remind us that death and suffering occur worldwide from other injustices that also need our prayers.

Help us to remember that we should share the Gospel both in word and deed.

May our prayers be for Your Kingdom on earth, and may we continue these prayers long after the season of Lent is over.
