A Prayer for this Lent

Gracious God, many of us are calling to you to intervene in what is happening across the world - the anger and hate for our fellow men, the fear of disease, and now, especially, the fear of war. At this moment, we lift your children who are fighting for their lives, who are facing death or at the very least, oppression.

As Christians, who know the cost associated with what is happening in Ukraine and off the shores of Taiwan, we reach out to you to intervene now, restore peace, and open the eyes of those who think this is something that we in this country don’t need to fear.

Whatever the outcome, we pray that your will be done as we corporately pray the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray …

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. AMEN
