Christ's Supremacy, Our Stewardship: Reflecting His Generosity

In Hebrews 1:1-4 and 2:5-12, we see a powerful depiction of Christ's supremacy and sacrificial love. These passages remind us that Jesus, the heir of all things, sustains the world by His powerful word, and that through His suffering and death, He brings many children to glory. This truth is at the heart of Christian stewardship.

Christ’s Supremacy, Our Stewardship: Reflecting His Generosity Through Giving

As we embark on this year’s Annual Giving Campaign, we are reminded of the abundant grace we’ve received through Christ.

Everything we have—our time, talents, and resources—ultimately belongs to Christ, who sustains all things. As stewards of God’s creation, we are called to give generously in response to His overwhelming generosity. Just as Christ gave everything for our salvation, we are invited to give of ourselves for the sake of God’s mission in the world.

Here at The Episcopal Church of St. Mary Magdalene & St. Martin (Sts. MM&M), we embody the spirit of Christian stewardship by giving back to the community in numerous impactful ways. Our church family has always been deeply committed to transforming lives through acts of service, outreach, and compassion. Your generosity in the past has enabled us to support a wide range of programs and partnerships that serve the most vulnerable in our community.

Here are just a few of the ways we’ve been able to make a difference together:

  • Tomorrow's Rainbow: We provided financial support for this essential organization, which offers grief support and equine-assisted therapy to children and families dealing with loss, trauma, and mental health challenges. Our partnership helps them continue providing a safe space for those struggling with anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
  • Goodman Jewish Family Services: With our help, this organization empowers individuals and strengthens families, offering social services that protect the vulnerable, including preventing evictions and assisting in emergency situations.
  • LifeNet 4 Families: Through our partnership, we helped LifeNet provide over 1,700 hot meals weekly, along with food packages, clothing, and rental assistance to those in need, helping to address food insecurity and homelessness.
  • Broward Children’s Center: We’ve supported the creation of a new playground for children with developmental disabilities and medical fragility, ensuring they have a safe and joyful space to grow.
  • ScentsAbility Candles: By funding adaptive strategies and job training programs, we’ve helped create sustainable work opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

These ministries, and many others, highlight the breadth of the impact that Sts. MM&M has on our local community and beyond. We are not just a church that gathers on Sundays; we are a church that lives out the gospel every day through concrete acts of love and service.

Our Annual Giving Campaign allows us to continue this vital work. As we reflect on Hebrews 1:1-4 and 2:5-12, we are reminded that everything belongs to Christ, and it is through Him that we are called to be generous stewards. Just as Christ did not withhold anything from us, we are invited to give joyfully to sustain the work of the church.

By contributing to this campaign, you are ensuring that we can continue to fund important outreach efforts like The Our Father’s House Soup KitchenLaundry Love, Hope South Florida, NAMI Broward County, and CarePortal, among many others. You are helping us to provide scholarships for children at our preschool and to foster environments of love and safety for LGBTQ+ youth.

Whether you’re able to give of your time, talents, or financial resources, every gift counts. Your support is crucial in ensuring that our church can continue to be a beacon of hope, love, and transformation in the community.

As you prayerfully consider your contribution to this year’s campaign, we ask you to reflect on the incredible example of Christ’s generosity. Your gift, no matter the size, helps us continue His work of transforming lives and communities.

Together, let us continue the legacy of giving and embody Christ’s love for the world, and ensure that the mission of Sts. MM&M thrives in the years to come.
