During the month of August, our Church was able to meet the needs of two families through the CarePortal Ministry. In both cases, grandmothers assumed custody of their grandchildren as the children’s parents were no longer able to provide shelter and necessities for them. The first grandmother needed bedding (sheets, blankets, and pillowcases). She did not speak English and God provided a person to not only translate but to also accompany us to deliver the items. During the delivery, we prayed for the family and for peace in their country.
The second grandmother is taking care of eight grandchildren, and due to a car accident, needed three convertible car seats. We provided one of the car seats and another church provided the remaining two. We prayed with the social worker for the continuing needs of this family. We are grateful for the support of the generous donors from St. Mary Magdalene and St. Martin and encourage you to donate earmark funds for us to continue this valuable community outreach and support.
As we are instructed in Matthew 25:44-45 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’”
