The group of Outreach parishioners and friends from St Mary Magdalene and St Martin Episcopal Church continue to work together on many aspects of feeding the homeless and making sure about the safety and education of others and the elderly in our parish home.
Recently, we were featured in the newsletter of "Our Father's House Soup Kitchen". Volunteers are still needed to serve lunches at Our Father’s House. A schedule to volunteer was recently emailed to you.
Once a month on Mondays at 9:30 A.M. in our church parking lot, we collect meat sandwiches, snacks and drinks and bring then them over to this center. Anyone can contribute.
- Two slices of plain bread with ham & cheese or bologna & cheese (no condiments) individually placed in small baggies
- Prepackaged snack items
- Bottled water
- Men’s new or gently used shorts and underwear; sizes-small, medium, or large
- Men’s white crew socks
- During our cold spells, many parishioners and friends reached out with much needed warm clothes
In other news, The Coral Springs Quilt Guild who meet monthly at our church made a quilt and auctioned it off to benefit Our Father's House.
Also, some of us (teenagers included) volunteered at a homeless event called, "Thanksgiving on Good Friday Street Outreach," at The Caring Place. In spite of the rain, many homeless were fed.
We continue to reach out to others with many programs being set up over the summer and fall. Look for these events in future news.
If you would like more information about the Outreach Ministry or would like to volunteer, please call the parish office at (954) 753-1400 for more information.
Thank you and may God wrap his arms around you and give you peace.
