On December 20, 2021, our church joined CarePortal, a technological platform connecting volunteers with children in our community who need care. CarePortal connects families, community members, and churches to provide the best possible care for these vulnerable and precious children. Since joining CarePortal, less than a year ago, we have fulfilled our mission of helping families from Pompano to Parkland by responding to sixteen (16) requests, positively impacted forty-one (41) children – providing several car seats, strollers, clothes, shoes, diapers, and wipes. The economic impact to date on our neighbors exceeds five thousand eight hundred dollars ($5,800).
We need more volunteers for our church response team – if you are interested in “hands-on” support of these children just call Janice D. Villiers at 516-998-6238 or the church office to volunteer. Volunteers have direct contact with the social service agency workers and purchase and deliver the items to families we help.
Created by the Global Orphan Project in 2015, CarePortal allows caseworkers to submit requests on the platform for assistance based on identified community needs. Any individual, church, or agency registered on the platform will see the requests in their area, enabling them to respond immediately. Recently we obtained a CarePortal Credit Card making it even easier for you to make contributions to this ministry.
