“All things come of thee, O God, and of thine own have we given thee.” 1 Chronicles 29:14
Each time we come together for the Eucharist, we hear scripture read and explicated, we profess our faith and confess our sins, we pray and praise God, and we share a word of peace with friends and newcomers alike. All this before we approach the Table and share in Holy Communion. And we do one thing more: we open our wallets or checkbooks…and we give. This is no small thing. Is it simply a practical matter – support for the work of the church? Though certainly practical, it is more. It is a statement of our real faith!
