Andrew Butler began serving at Saint Mary Magdalene in April 2016 as the Assistant
Director of Music and administrator of the Music School. Andrew now serves as the Director of
Music. He directs the Chancel Choir and organizes our live broadcasts. Prior to moving
to Florida, he was the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church of Kaufman, Texas
while completing his Masters of Sacred Music at Perkins School of Theology at Southern
Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Andrew grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky in a musical family. Church music was an
important part of his development beginning with the church children’s choir. Andrew felt a call to
ministry in high school and went on to graduate from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee,
Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s of Music Church Music.
Andrew had the opportunity to sing in masterwork choirs such as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He also performed under the direction of the internationally acclaimed music composer and conductor, John Rutter.
