Building Update

On the evening of Dec 25th, our building experienced a flood of sewage caused by a blockage in the city's line on Riverside Drive. We continue to mitigate and restore our property.

Friends in Christ,

What a way to start 2023! We are so very thankful to our friends at Temple Beth Am and Temple Beth Orr who have hosted us for worship for the last few weeks. Beginning this Sunday we will once again worship on our property and resume our regular service times of 8:30, 10:30, and 12:30.

We will be worshiping in the Parish Hall until the asbestos abatement is complete in the main church building. The parish hall and kitchen are not affected by the asbestos issue. Please note that we will not have access to the kitchen or bathrooms. We will be renting “flushable” porta-potties and a hand wash station which will be locked except for our use on Sundays. We will plan to return to worship in our sanctuary as soon as the asbestos abatement is complete.

Over the last few months, the vestry has been working on plans for a campus renovation and addition to our facilities. A few months ago, the vestry engaged the services of an architectural firm to develop our conceptual plan for our campus. In our plan, it was our desire to remodel the narthex/bathroom areas. We are working with the architects to see if we can use this opportunity to move forward with our remodeling plans for this portion of the church and then do our planned addition at a future date. This would save us from having to do a restoration and then in a year or two tear it out for the remodel. The Vestry will work diligently to make the decisions that are best for the long-term of our faith community.

Thank you all for your patience during this unexpected “disaster.” Together we will continue to worship and serve our God, loving one another and our neighbors. Please do return to our worship, and continue your financial commitments and we will rise from this stronger than we were before.

Blessings to you all!

Faithfully,

Fr. Lee+
